Abstract :Objective To explore the effect of applying Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) on the inner ring depression of disposable circumcision stapler in patients with circumcision. Methods A total of 94 male patients with circumcision for phimosis and prepuce who were admitted to our hospital from December 2016 to December 2018 were selected as the research subjects and divided into an experimental group and a control group according to the random number table method, with 47 cases in each group. Both groups underwent circumcision treatment. The control group used medical lubricating fluid to apply on the inner ring depression of disposable circumcision stapler during circumcision, while the experimental group used Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) to apply on the inner ring depression of disposable circumcision stapler. The visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to evaluate and compare the postoperative pain degree between the two groups, and the incidence of postoperative infection and postoperative adhesion between the two groups was statistically compared , and the satisfaction between the two groups was compared. Results The VAS score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of infection and postoperative adhesion in the experimental group were 4.26% and 2.13%, respectively, which were lower than those in the control group (17.02% and 12.77%, respectively), and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The total satisfaction rate in the experimental group was 93.62%, which was higher than that in the control group (78.72%, respectively), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) to the inner ring of circumcision can reduce the degree of pain, reduce complications such as infection and adhesion, promote wound healing, and improve patient satisfaction, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
