Abstract : Objective: To observe the application effect of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) in circumcision. Methods: 352 patients who underwent circumcision who were admitted to the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University (Jiangmen Wuyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital) from January 2018 to December 2019 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into two groups. One group is the control group (applying medical lubricant), and the other group is the observation group (applying Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin)). The visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, infection rates, and postoperative ring removal conditions of the two groups are compared. . Results: The VAS score of the observation group was (1.22±0.47), which was significantly lower than that of the control group (5.35±1.32), and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The postoperative infection rate of the observation group was 3.41%, and the incidence rate of difficulty in removing the ring was 17.05%, which were significantly lower than the 10.23% and 54.55% of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: For patients undergoing circumcision, the application of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) can achieve excellent clinical results and have a positive impact.
