Abstract : Objective To study and analyze the efficacy and safety of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) combined with adapalene gel in the treatment of acne vulgaris. Methods 128 patients with acne vulgaris admitted to our hospital from January 2016 to August 2017 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into an observation group and a control group using the random number grouping method, with 64 cases in each group. Patients in the control group only received Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) for treatment, and patients in the observation group received Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) combined with adapalene gel for treatment. The post-treatment effects, occurrence of adverse reactions and skin lesion counts of the two groups of patients were observed. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group (98.44%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (87.50%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group (9.38%) was significantly lower than that in the control group (21.88%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The number of skin lesions (papules, comedones, pustules) in the observation group was less than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) combined with adapalene gel is more effective in treating acne vulgaris, greatly reducing the patient's skin lesion count, promoting the patient's recovery, and having high safety, and is worthy of clinical use.
