Abstract:To investigate the effects of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) combined with traditional Chinese medicine sitz bath on the wound healing effect and serum epidermal growth factor (EGF) expression in elderly patients with perianal abscess after surgery. Methods Seventy-eight patients with perianal abscess who were to be operated in the Department of Anal and Intestinal Surgery of our hospital were divided into a test group (40 patients) and a control group (38 patients) by the single-blind randomized table method, and they were given sitz baths with herbal packs of the hospital's own medicine on the first postoperative day (15-20 min/times, 2 times/d), and then the patients in the test group were wiped dry after sitz baths, and then Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) was applied. After 7 days of treatment, the wound healing of the two groups was observed, and the quality of life of the two groups was evaluated by VAS, quality of life scale (SF-36) and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), and the serum EGF level of the two groups was measured by ELISA. After 7 d of treatment, the number of healed wounds in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05), and the number of edematous wounds was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05); there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of anal fistulae and bleeding wounds between the two groups (P>0.05); the scores of VAS and PSQI of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the pre-treatment group (P<0.01), and the scores of SFQI were significantly lower than those of the pre-treatment group (P<0.01), while those of the experimental group were significantly lower than the pre-treatment group (P<0.01). ), SF-36 score and EGF level were significantly higher than that of the pre-treatment and control groups (P<0.01). The percentage of patients with wound healing on day 10 was 40% and 26% in the experimental and control groups, respectively, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) combined with traditional Chinese medicine sitz bath has good clinical efficacy in wound healing of elderly patients with perianal abscess, which has a rapid onset of action, relieves pain, improves the quality of life and sleep, and promotes wound healing by up-regulating the level of serum EGF in the patients.
