Abstract : Episiotomy is a common surgical method for vaginal delivery in obstetrics. It can effectively shorten the second stage of labor, reduce neonatal asphyxia, and avoid maternal perineal laceration [1]. Since the episiotomy site is close to the anus, and the lochia discharge and excretion during the puerperium are easy to contaminate the episiotomy wound, a large number of bacteria breed and induce infection. Pain and poor healing of the episiotomy after vaginal delivery are very common in clinical practice, which often affect the postpartum recovery and effective breastfeeding of the mother. Extended care is the carrier for the expansion of medical care work from the hospital to outside the hospital, and is the continuation of the hospital's overall care to achieve the purpose of promoting health [2-3]. Correct evaluation and nursing intervention of postpartum episiotomy can effectively reduce the incidence of episiotomy infection, relieve maternal pain, and promote the recovery of episiotomy. For this reason, our hospital applies Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) to mothers with episiotomy, and adopts the extended care model outside the hospital for guidance and observation .
