Evaluation of the efficacy and safety of compound polymyxin B ointment in the treatment of bacterial skin diseases

Abstract :Objective:To analyze and evaluate the efficacy and safety of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) in the treatment of bacterial skin diseases. Methods:A total of 72 patients with bacterial skin diseases were randomly divided into a reference group and a study group. Thirty-six patients in the reference group were treated with ciprofloxacin hydrochloride ointment, and 36 patients in the study group were treated with Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment). The treatment lasted for 1 week, and the efficacy and safety of the two groups were compared. Results:Statistical analysis of relevant data showed that the total effective rate of the study group was similar to that of the reference group, and both were relatively high, with the reference group being 86.11% and the study group being 83.33% (P=0.283). Adverse reactions: Only one patient in the study group had a mild burning sensation (2.78%), and only one patient in the reference group had a mild itching (2.78%) . There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) has the advantages of good therapeutic effect and high safety in the treatment of bacterial skin diseases, and can be recommended for clinical use.
