Analysis of the efficacy of compound polymyxin B ointment in the treatment of bacterial skin diseases in children

Abstract : Objective: To observe and analyze the efficacy of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) in the treatment of bacterial skin diseases in children. Methods: 100 children with bacterial skin diseases who were diagnosed and treated in the outpatient department of Foshan First People's Hospital from January 2017 to January 2018 were selected and divided into observation groups (50 cases) according to different treatment methods. Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) was applied. Treatment method) and the control group (50 cases, treatment method using mupirocin ointment). Statistical methods were used to analyze the clinical efficacy of the two groups of children as well as the itching and pain scores before and after treatment. Results: The total clinical effective rate of the children in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P0.05). The itching and pain scores of the observation group after treatment were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant. (P <0.05). Conclusion: Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) has significant efficacy in treating bacterial skin diseases in children.
