Abstract : Objective: To provide basis for the clinical application of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) by observing the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) and 2% mupirocin ointment in the treatment of impetigo. Methods: 146 patients with impetigo were divided into two groups: Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) (Funuo) group and mupirocin ointment (Bidaobang) group. Both groups of patients applied the drug directly on the surface of the skin lesions, twice a day. Follow-ups were conducted on the 3rd and 7th days respectively, and the efficacy was judged, and adverse reactions were recorded at the same time. Results: The clinical effectiveness of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) in treating impetigo was 96%, and compared with mupirocin ointment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) has significant clinical efficacy in treating impetigo without obvious adverse reactions.
